Hidaka Mikaku Fair Round 2 Brings Hokkaido Coastal Flavors to Sapporo Hotel

The Hidaka Subprefectural Bureau, in cooperation with Hotel Lifort Sapporo, is running the second round of the Hidaka Mikaku Fair from August 1 to August 31, 2026, offering both lunch and dinner menus built entirely around ingredients from the Hidaka coast of Hokkaido.

What happened

Following an earlier round, the fair returns to the hotel restaurant in central Sapporo throughout August 2026. Dinner courses are priced at JPY 3,500 (tax included), with an optional 90-minute all-you-can-drink option at JPY 5,500.

Menu highlights

• Urakawa trout salmon carpaccio with red-shiso jelly and mitsuishi-kombu ponzu.
• Beijing-style stir fry of Apoi pork from Samani Town’s Komatani Ranch with camembert cheese from Cheese Studio 1103 in Hidaka Town.
• Choice of mitsuishi-kombu rich cold tantanmen or Shinhidaka goma-tsubu shellfish rice with mitsuishi kombu.
• Special add-ons including Biratori junmai sake Ryoran, or homemade ice cream made with strawberries from Urakawa and Samani.

Why it matters

The fair is part of ongoing efforts to raise the profile of Hidaka’s coastal and agricultural products, giving urban diners in Sapporo direct exposure to a region better known for horse breeding and Hidaka kombu.

For international readers

The venue is centrally located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, within walking distance of Susukino. Diners who complete a post-meal survey receive a Hidaka kombu gift, capped at the first 200 respondents.
