Samani’s Apoi Geopark Visitor Centre Runs Nine Days of Summer Events in 2026

The Apoi Geopark Visitor Centre in Samani Town, operated by the town’s Commerce, Industry and Tourism Division, launched a nine-day series of summer events during peak season 2026, combining geology, botany and Hidaka coast culture.

Programme concept

Each of the nine days offers a themed activity – guided walks, mini lectures, hands-on workshops – built around the assets that made Apoi a UNESCO Global Geopark. Some sessions are aimed at families, others at more experienced hikers and naturalists.

Why it matters

The Apoi Geopark’s peridotite geology and endemic alpine flora are unusual worldwide, and dedicated summer programming keeps the site engaging beyond one-off visits. The nine-day format lets casual visitors and repeat travellers each find an entry point.
