Two thematic routes
The site offers two curated tour routes based on historical paintings: one tracing the composition of the Picture of Samani Kaisho, and another following the View of Samani, Eastern Ezo. Visitors completing the stamp rally receive a photo set of Samani featuring six images chosen from a selection of 36.
Why it matters
Samani has historically been a less-visited node on the Hidaka coast than Biratori or Shiraoi, and its Ainu heritage has often been read through the lens of the Apoi Geopark. The new site gives the town its own dedicated Ainu-culture presence online, built on a Cabinet Office Ainu Policy Promotion Grant.
