Hokkaido’s Tantetsuko Heritage Card Campaign Returns With 13 New Designs

The Tantetsuko Promotion Council began distributing the sixth series of Tantetsuko Cards on June 27, 2026. The campaign features 13 newly designed hologram cards linked to industrial heritage locations across Hokkaido.

What happened

Visitors can obtain cards at participating facilities after meeting the conditions set for each location. Distribution is scheduled to continue through February 28, 2027, but individual cards may run out before the official end date.

The campaign gives travelers a reason to explore a network of communities associated with Hokkaido’s coal, iron and port development. Rather than concentrating on a single attraction, the card series encourages travel across former mining areas, manufacturing centers and port cities.
